Careers in English Language and Literature Overview:  English as a major is versatile and helps individual to develop skills useful in many career fields. English graduates go on to a great variety of careers, including writing, broadcasting, publishing, journalism, teaching, advertising, librarianship administration and management.Students have an option to study either English language/ linguistics or English literature. The study of English literature provides opportunities to explore the worlds of literature. Coursework focuses on the area such as drama, poetry, fiction and history of literature. On the other hand, the study of Linguistics provides opportunities to enhance understanding about the concept and technique of linguistic analysis and the way in which the language is used.
