Careers in Nursing

Overview:
Nursing is a career filled with endless personal and professional rewards. If you choose nursing, you are choosing to spend your life helping others, using skills that blend scientific knowledge with compassion and care. Nursing, as an integral part of the health care system, focuses on promotion of health, prevention of illness, and care of physically ill, mentally ill, and disable people of all ages in all health care setting.
Registered nurses (RNs), perform basic duties that include treating patients, educating patients about medical conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients’ family members, recording patients’ medical histories and symptoms, helping to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operating medical machinery, administering treatment and medications, and helping with patient rehabilitation.
Nursing education programme include both classroom instruction and clinical experiences in hospitals and other health care facilities. Nurses are required to appear in examination conducted by Nurses Examination Board (NEB). After clearing the examination they get licensed from Pakistan Nursing Council to practice as a registered nurse.
