Careers in Textile Engineering

Overview:

Textile engineering deal with scientific and engineering principles of designing and controlling all aspects of fibre, textile, and apparel processes, products, and machinery. Textile engineers are trained to manage the design and operation of the weaving and cutting equipment that textile manufacturers use.

Textile engineers work to find new synthetic materials, fabrics, textures and experiment with dyes and weaves. They carry out tests for durability, fabric strength, and work with and develop computerized equipment. Textile production goes through four main stages: yarn preparation, yarn production, weaving or knitting, dyeing and finishing, the courses in textile engineering are design to equip student with the basic understanding about textile production. Textile engineering course mainly focuses on Polymer and Fibre Science, Yarn and Fabric Manufacturing Process, Dyeing, Finishing etc.
