Careers in Textile Engineering
Overview:
Textile
engineering deal with scientific and engineering principles of
designing and controlling all aspects of fibre, textile, and apparel
processes, products, and machinery. Textile engineers are trained to
manage the design and operation of the weaving and cutting equipment
that textile manufacturers use.
Textile engineers work to find
new synthetic materials, fabrics, textures and experiment with dyes and
weaves. They carry out tests for durability, fabric strength, and work
with and develop computerized equipment. Textile production goes through
four main stages: yarn preparation, yarn production, weaving or
knitting, dyeing and finishing, the courses in textile engineering are
design to equip student with the basic understanding about textile
production. Textile engineering course mainly focuses on Polymer and
Fibre Science, Yarn and Fabric Manufacturing Process, Dyeing, Finishing
etc.
